In February 2017 a new large-scale project in the field of children's inbound tourism and public diplomacy "Experience Russia" will be launched. Groups of foreign schoolchildren will come to our country, where together with their Russian counterparts will travel to remote places, "Izvestiya" reports.
The "Experience Russia" project is launched by the Centre for Eurasian Cooperation and Development with the support of the Russian Union of Travel Industry. The first group of children from abroad will arrive in February. They will be hosted by one of the central regions of Russia. Most likely, the guests will be from India, but at the same time a group from Morocco is also preparing for the trip. In the future, children from China, Indonesia, Latin America and Europe are expected. Accommodations are available in a variety of formats — in camps, hotels or families.
The project has two directions. First is holding international festivals for children and youth. The four of them will be held as early as 2017. The first — in spring — in India, the second will be timed to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and will be held in Peterhof in June, the third — in Kazakhstan in September, and the last — in China in December.
But the main part of the project is travel programs over our country for children and young people from other countries side by side with their Russian peers from 10 to 18 years. Each group will spend in Russia from a week to month, mainly in the regions. Representatives of Perm, Sverdlovsk, Astrakhan, Nizhny Novgorod, Tver, Samara regions, Bashkortostan have already expressed their interest.
