Bashkortostan official delegation will pay visit to Socialist Republic of Vietnam

An official delegation of Bashkortostan plans to visit the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from January 10 to 14, 2017.
The visit program includes meetings and talks with the leaders of several ministries and departments, representatives of business and scientific circles of Vietnam, which will be held in major cities — Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau.
The delegation of our republic will be headed by the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Rustem Mardanov. Its structure, in addition to officials, is composed of representatives of Chamber of Commerce RB, businessmen.
The prospects of cooperation expansion in different spheres were discussed at the meeting of the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Russia Nguyen Thanh Sean in Ufa in October 2016.
It was noted that the current trade turnover between the republics amounted to 15 million dollars. "We need to increase the supply volumes. There is quite a potential for this", said the Head of the Republic. He also stated the need to create joint ventures, attract investments.
Bashkortostan supplies to Vietnam mainly production of chemical and metallurgical industry, equipment. Deliveries of leather goods, equipment, textiles are made from Vietnam. 24 enterprises created with participation of the Vietnamese capital operate in the territory of Bashkortostan engaged in trade, catering, cargo transport, manufacture of paint and lacquers products, plastic products and textile products.
Vietnamese citizens study at Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU). The Russian-Vietnamese joint venture "Vietsovpetro" is a major USPTU partner in research area. Its experts since 1997 take part in joint seminars, meetings and scientific advice. At the moment a draft agreement on cooperation with the province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau in the trade-economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian spheres is finalized and ready for signing.
