Egypt tours can fall in price by 30 percent
UFA, 13 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/.
Tours in Egypt may fall in price by one third, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) informs.
As reported by «Izvestiya», after opening of regular flights with Egypt, the cost of tours for Russians will not simply remain at the level of 2015, but may noticeably decrease. Tours can cost up to 30 percent cheaper than before the ban on air travel.
This is due to a multidirectional range of currencies of the Egyptian pound and the Russian ruble, ATOR marks.
"Thus, if at the time of the air travel termination $ 100 cost 6.8 thousand rubles and 1.1 thousand Egyptian pounds (ratio 6.18), today this amount is equal to 5.8 thousand rubles and 1.7 thousand Egyptian pounds (ratio 3,4)", ATOR explains.
Flights to Egypt were suspended by the decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin after a crash of the Sukhoy plane over Sinai. 224 people were killed in the air crash on October 31, 2015, including seven crew members. The FSB called the incident a terrorist act.
