Granite tiles laid on Manege Square in Moscow to celebrate the 850th anniversary will be replaced with tiles from Bashkiria. To do this, the republican "Uralskie Kamni" (Ural Stones) company, which supplies granite for works on improving the streets of Moscow, will increase extraction by one-third, and production by 50 percent in 2017, Vedomosti reports. The company is developing the largest deposit of light gray granite "Mansurovskoye" — a unique source of valuable mineral. The granite produced in this field is durable and time proof, it is used in all types of construction works.
The head of Moscow overhaul repairs department, Alexei Yeliseyev, said that the overhaul repairs involve works to strengthen and replace the concrete base, reassembly of granite paving with partial replacement of destroyed tiles.
The works will begin in the second half of May and cover the entire territory of Manege Square.
