Rustem Khamitov: "We are seriously working with China on attracting investments and establishing new enterprises"

On April 19 in Moscow, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov delivered a report at a meeting with representatives of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society, which was held in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly RF during an official visit of the National People's Congress delegation of the People's Republic of China.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Zhang Dejiang, the Chairman of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society Dmitry Mezentsev, leaders and representatives of regions actively interacting with China.
According to Valentina Matvienko, economic cooperation in various fields is priority area of cooperation between Russia and China. For the further growth of the economies of the two countries, Valentina Matvienko proposed to use fully potential of interregional relations.
Zhang Dejiang also noted that Russia and the PRC had achieved an extremely high level of bilateral relations. But the development of state cooperation largely depends on strengthening of human ties.
Rustem Khamitov noted in his speech that the proposals and initiatives on development of inter-parliamentary relations discussed at the meeting would serve to foster long-term Russian-Chinese cooperation, primarily at the regional level.
The Head of Bashkortostan underlined that the republic daily worked with representatives of business and scientific community of the People's Republic of China, including within the "Volga-Yangtze" format.
The Head of the Region informed about the First Russian-Chinese Neurosurgery Congress to be hosted by Bashkortostan, and also invited Chinese colleagues to take an active part in forums and festivals held by the republic.
Speaking about the development of interregional cooperation, Rustem Khamitov said that Bashkortostan had signed agreements with four provinces of the People's Republic of China (Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Jiangxi, Anhui), as well as the city of Chongqing.
Dmitry Mezentsev highly appreciated the achievements of Bashkortostan in systematic development of cooperation with the regions of China.
The People's Republic of China is one of the leading trade partners of Bashkortostan. The volume of republican foreign trade turnover with China amounted to 396.8 million dollars in 2016, and 75 percent of this amount ($ 299 million) falls on export supplies.
There are 22 enterprises established with participation of Chinese capital in the territory of the republic. They are engaged in trade, healthcare, production of non-metallic mineral products and metallurgical production, mining, logging, real estate operations, construction and architecture, research and financial services.
